Sideline Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Welcomes Matthew Shortt, PA-C

Sideline Orthopedics and Sports Medicine of Blacksburg, VA, welcomes Matthew S. Shortt, PA-C, to their team. He earned his Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in Physician Assistant Studies with a concentration in biomedical sciences from Jefferson College of Health Sciences.

Mr. Shortt developed a true passion for the field of orthopedics when he sustained a back injury in college and became an orthopedic patient. He knew then that he wanted to pursue a career in orthopedic healthcare. He truly understands the patient perspective and has compassion for orthopedic patients’ pain and paths to recovery. Mr. Shortt thrives on building a relationship of trust with each of his patients during their journey through orthopedic treatment, as they gradually resume pain-free lives and return to what they love doing.

Mr. Shortt has a special interest in bringing the most up-to-date technology to his patients and Sideline Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. His passion for providing exceptional care in sports medicine, rehabilitation, total joint arthroplasty and fracture care enables his patients to recover as expediently as possible.

Outside the office, Mr. Shortt enjoys spending time with his family and traveling. Together, they take on new adventures exploring the New River Valley. Mr. Shortt enjoys being outside, playing golf, running, skiing and participating in obstacle course racing.
