Knee injuries are painful and frightening. At Sideline Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, we treat athletes of all ages with injuries related to the knee.

Sideline Orthopedics and Sports Medicine offers quick access to appointments so you or your child can be treated promptly and with expert care.

ACL Injuries

The knee is a complex structure consisting of bones, cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. One of the most serious injuries of the knee is a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). The ACL is the ligament that stabilizes the knee during side to side or cutting motions. A healthy, intact ACL is necessary for athletes to participate at a competitive level.

A complete tear of the ACL requires:

  • An MRI to accurately diagnose the injury

  • Surgery to reconstruct the ACL

  • Rehabilitation before and after the surgery

Dr. Bart Eastwood will work with you and your athlete to decide the best treatment option for the ACL reconstruction. Considerations will be made toward the types of activities the athlete participates in as well as future plans.

You can feel confident that the care your young athlete will receive at Sideline Orthopedics and Sports Medicine will be second to none. From initial diagnosis through rehabilitation and recovery, Sideline Orthopedics will be here for you and your family.
